From Working Hard to Working Smart

Things has changed so much over the last twenty, thirty years that at times we couldn’t help feeling a bit off balance.

For instance, the notion of working hard is no longer playing such an importance as before.  More and more, people find the answer to achieving better results through collaboration. In other words, we are moving from a “ME” mentality to a “WE” mentality.

This paradigm shift places emphasis on two very important elements in wealth creation, namely, teamwork, and leverage. These concepts are not new, but it really makes a big difference when we can apply them with total conviction and persistence

Teamwork if put right, as I imagine, is like suddenly having the extra turbo charge once the various parts are working in unison.  Things can flow so effortlessly and feeling is great.

Leverage, on the other hand, propels you forward because of the compounding. Even with the same effort, it multiples what you personally can do many, many times by engaging on other people’s time, money, ideas, experience, network, and the like.
Dale Carnegie said it beautifully, “I would rather have one percent of 100 people’s effort, than 100 percent of my own.”

By engaging our thoughts in this direction, we would certainly be talking about exponential growth, not linear progression. And, this is what I called working smart. What would you think?
